She also appears for a brief second (literally) in the "Making of Kill Bill Vol. 2" featurette. 22 minutes and 33 seconds into the featurette, you can see her in a happy mood hanging out with someone in the background while Tarantino is in conversation with a member of the crew in the foreground.

Be sure to check out the Chiaki Kuriyama Yahoo Group for a few hundred more pictures. For discussions, please visit the Chiaki Kuriyama Fandom Forum. Finally please vote Uma Thurman vs. Chiaki Kuriyama as the "Best Fight" at the MTV Movie Awards. Voting ends May 19 and I believe you can vote more than once, so vote often. MTV will broadcast the award ceremony on June 10.

February 26, 2004: Added a list of magazines with Chiaki info and pictures. If you find others, please let me know.

February 10, 2004: Added a Oyayubihime video clip to the video page. Also corrected the trivia about Chiaki's nickname when she was young. She called herself Chaki, not Chiki.

February 8, 2004: The Official Website for Last Quarter is now online.

February 3, 2004: Finally updated the News section with information about Chiaki and the American remake of Ju-On.

January 25, 2004: Uploaded 3 more rare Japanese TV commercials. Also placed a few links to video clips on other websites in the Video Section.

January 23, 2004: News about Kill Bill Vol. 2 trailer. Also uploaded 3 rare Japanese TV commercials to the video section.

January 21, 2004: News about Last Quarter, Chiaki's new film. Also added three more trivia items.

January 11, 2004: Kou Shibasaki was supposed to be Yuki Yubari. Ever since I wrote the "Untold Story of Yuki Yubari" in October 2003, I have been slowly trying to find every scrap of Yuki information as I can find. From the very beginning, keen Battle Royale fans who have read the first draft of Kill Bill immediately noticed a similiarity between Yuki Yubari and BR's Mitsuko Souma played by Kou Shibasaki. The endless debates are legend but alas there's no solid information regarding this matter in the U.S. at all. Fortunately, since the establishment of the Chiaki site, I have had the opportunity to communicate with many Japanese fans and now I have indisputable evidence that Tarantino had Kou Shibasaki in mind when he was writing about the Yubari sisters. It turns out Kou Shibasaki has become a superstar in Japan since her Battle Royale days. In the last few weeks, I've gathered enough information to write what appears to be the first comprehensive English Kou Shibasaki biography on the Internet. Without further ado, here's the Kou Shibasaki Fandom. Go to the bottom of the biography section to find "Success and the Calling of Yuki Yubari" where I mapped out exactly what happened and why we don't have Yuki Yubari in Kill Bill.

January 10, 2004: Added a few new trivia and the news about the Kill Bill Vol 1 DVD and Vol. 2 release date. New graphics at the top of the HOME screen thanks to tundra2.

January 2, 2004: I apologize for not writing a full Chiaki biography yet. The rationale is in the Profile section.

December 28, 2003: Added the Genica Magazine Gallery.

December 22, 2003: A lot of minor changes. Removed "In English" from the title of the site since the language of this site is self-evident. Revised slightly the "Welcome" section at the top of this page. Added the news about Chiaki's "A Train" movie. Moved Cammy's Halloween area to the temporary fan section. Until I can spend more time making a decent fan section, some of the cosplay pictures and fan art are going to be housed in the Chiaki Kuriyama Fandom Yahoo Group.

December 17, 2003: The remake of Ju-On is coming to the states starring Sarah Michelle Geller. See the News Section above.

December 12, 2003: The Fandom goes interactive. For the last three days, a few die-hard Chiaki fans and I have been testing a new message board system at the all-new Chiaki Kuriyama Fandom Yahoo Group. Come join us.

December 9, 2003: Added a very wordy trivia about the Crazy 88. I wish I had a message board to discuss this with other fans.

December 8, 2003: Added 6 new pictures to Gallery 3. Do these look grainy to you guys? For some reason, these don't look very clear on my LCD monitor.

December 5, 2003: Although the fan section is not ready yet, here's a peek of some of the wonderful things to come. Check out the cool sketch of Go Go Yubari by Maria Zubair on the right. Isn't she talented? Read Blade Cody's Chiaki Kuriyama Poem. Wow! And finally one has to recognize the sheer creativity of Daniel Wang who produced a Kubrick-sized Go Go Yubari figure out of paper! Please be patient with me, I'll have the fan section ready in a few more days. If you have something that you want to share, please don't hesitate to forward them my way.

December 2, 2003: Added the Kill Bill Vol. 2 trailer information to the news section above.

December 1, 2003: Very minor changes to the Filmography, Audio, and Links pages to bring everything up to date. The wallpaper-sized (942x768) picture to the right came from the October 30, 2003 issue of Bungeishunju, a high-brow weekly literary magazine. The way they've placed the four images of Chiaki together is very artistic. Let's hope Chiaki does more fashion magazine style photoshoots because this picture is really growing on me. With each passing day, I like this picture more and more.

November 25, 2003: More Kill Bill audio clips and they're provocative! Hear Go Go say (in Japanese) "Do you want to screw me?" and "Don't laugh! Do you want to screw me, yes or no?" It's almost Thanksgiving and I'll be going out of town for a few days. That means there's no more updates until the first week of December. I'll still read my email though. Enjoy the holidays, everyone.

November 23, 2003: The Sabra Gallery is now completely ready. Thanks for all the emails sent to me concerning the linking problem. It was a busy weekend and I apologize for not addressing it sooner. Because of the large amount of emails I received concerning this, I'm unable to answer individually but I really appreciate everyone's concern. I'll double-check everything in my future updates so this issue won't repeat.

November 21, 2003: Added the Sabra Gallery.

November 18, 2003: Added the Halloween section (see above). In the future, I'm also thinking about adding a fan section where fan art can be showcased. Do you guys think it's a good idea to have more fan items on the site?

November 14, 2003: The Chiaki Kuriyama Fandom will be selected as the "Celebrity Site of the Day" this Sunday, November 16, 2003. Cool! Organized the site a little bit by moving the audio clips to the Audio page.

Celebrity Site of the
Day

November 13, 2003: The toys are coming! The toys are coming! Check out the news section above.

November 12, 2003: Added the release schedule for the DVD to the news section. Also added many new sections (Quotes, Audio, Video, etc.) in anticipation of the future growth of the site.

November 11, 2003: Here's a picture of Chiaki with Julie Dreyfus, Gordon Liu, and some unidentified others (geriatric retired Crazy 88s?) from the Beijing set of Kill Bill. All of O-Ren's key Yakuza members are pictured here except for Lucy Liu herself. Needless to say, Chiaki looks more than perfect. You can also hear Go Go say "Hi" and "You can beg better than that (in Japanese)."

November 7, 2003: Here's the official website for Take the "A" Train Someday, Chiaki's next movie. It will premiere in Japan on December 20, 2003 in one special theater before being widely released in 2004. Ironically, Chiaki will have English lines to say in this Japanese movie. More info coming soon.

November 6, 2003: Added a quick trivia about Chiaki's wish to keep the Go Go Ball she used on the set of Kill Bill.

November 3, 2003: Added Max Sterling's review of Ju-On (The Grudge). Dig through the confusion and find out exactly what this Chiaki-starring feature was about. Remember, she was only in the first Ju-On (2000), not the big-budget 2003 remake.

October 31, 2003: Added 4 new trivia items and appended a little more info for some existing trivia.

October 30, 2003: Thanks once again to Chiaki's Japanese fans for sending me pictures. Amazing! Chiaki is on the cover of two computer related magazines, the Weekly ASCII and Windows Start. Actually, it makes complete sense to put a pretty face on covers of magazines whose readership is mostly male. I wonder why American mainstays like PC Magazine and MacWorld prefer to display computer eye sores rather than cute girls like Chiaki on their covers.

October 28, 2003: More updates coming soon. Thanks for your patience. Meanwhile, check out this picture of Go Go looking like an honor student. She better get good marks for her school work or "bad things" happen.

October 25, 2003: Kill Bill opens in Japan today. Finally added the Filmography section. Chiaki is also spotlighted in People Magazine's Oct. 27th issue. The scan of that page (see the image in the news section) is large enough so you can read the words. Not only was Quentin Tarantino "very good at flattering" Chiaki but he also took her to Disneyland when she came to the U.S. to train for her role as Go Go Yubari. But why didn't the director feed the 88 lb girl?! Surely someone can see the point of taking Chiaki out to a restaurant once in a while. She needs to eat...like NOW!

October 23, 2003: Added the Eiga HIHO Gallery. The pictures are from the December 2003 edition of Eiga HIHO Magazine. Eiga HIHO is a major Japanese magazine tirelessly dedicated to "Action, Sci-Fi, Horror, Chicks, and Rock & Roll." This issue was just released in Japan this week and already a dedicated Japanese fan sent me this. Thank you.

October 22, 2003: Added news about Kill Bill's premiere in Japan. Chiaki looks so cute at these press events.

October 20, 2003: Added the Battle Royale Film and DVD Review by Max Sterling. Get to know the film and which version of the DVD you should buy.

October 19, 2003: Links page is ready. If you have other link suggestions, please let me know. Added the last item in the News section about the behind-the-scenes Windows Media clip. Go Go's short scene around the 1 minute mark kicks ass! Added the Need Help from Other Fans section and rearranged/organized the site a little bit.

October 18, 2003: Added some observations regarding the differences between the Battle Royale book and movie to the Trivia section.

October 17, 2003: KIll Bill opens in the UK, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries today. Added a quick trivia about Ai Maeda's presence in Kill Bill.

October 16, 2003: Added 8 more film pictures.

October 15, 2003: Added 9 more pictures.

October 14, 2003: Added 6 more pictures.

October 12, 2003: Wrote the Untold Story of Yuki Yubari and a few other trivia information. Do you guys actually read this stuff? I get the feeling people are justling pass each other to get to the pictures and not reading a single word I write. Tell me what you want, pictures or words?

October 11, 2003: More screen captures added to the film gallery. More stuff coming soon.

October 10, 2003: Major revamp and added some information finally. Unfortunately, nothing else seems ready. If you're looking for pictures, feel free to peruse a sample of the film gallery for screen captures of her work. And don't forget to visit the Kill Bill gallery for some nice promotional pictures from Miramax.
